چکیده
Abstract The Ludwig–Soret effect is a phenomenon wherein thermal diffusion induced by temperature gradient. governing differential equation to explain this has been derived phenomenologically based on the Onsager theorem in non-equilibrium thermodynamics. In study, we applied grain-boundary-phase (GBP) model effect. This originally proposed for calculating amount of grain boundary segregation alloys. flux vacancies was reasonably through parallel-tangent construction Gibbs energy curves utilized GBP model. Moreover, vacancy pure metal simulated. results illustrated that excess preferentially moved high-temperature region. direct application thermodynamic parameters CALPHAD method essential analyze phenomenon. Furthermore, oxygen Zr(O,Va)2 under considerably large gradient calculated, and similar result obtained, finding may rapid atom observed during flash sintering process.

Effect of Grain-Boundary Phase
Two types of hot-pressed silicon nitride, one having an amorphous grain-boundary phase (6 wt% yttria, 3 wt% alumina) and the other having a predominantly crystalline grain-boundary phase (8 wt% yttria, 1 wt% alumina), were tested on a split Hopkinson pressure bar with a momentum trap, such that, in each test, the sample was subjected to a single predefined stress pulse and then recovered withou...
متن کاملA phase-field model of stress effect on grain boundary migration
We developed a phase-field model to study the stress-driven grain boundary migration in elastically inhomogeneous polycrystalline materials with arbitrary elastic inhomogeneity and anisotropy. The dependence of elastic stiffness tensor on grain orientation is taken into account, and the elastic equilibrium equation is solved using the Fourier spectral iterative-perturbation method. We studied t...
متن کاملEffect of grain boundary energy anisotropy on highly-textured grain structures studied by phase field simulations
Two-dimensional phase field simulations were performed of grain growth in highly textured materials with equal fractions of 2 texture components, denoted as α and β grains, and assuming 2 values of the grain boundary energies, namely σlow for the boundaries between grains of a different texture component and σhigh for boundaries between grains of a similar orientation, resulting in microstructu...

15 صفحه اولQuantitative analysis of grain boundary properties in a generalized phase field model for grain growth in anisotropic systems
A good choice of model formulation and model parameters is one of the most important and difficult aspects in mesoscale modeling and requires a systematic and quantitative analysis. In this paper, it is studied how the model parameters of a generalized phase field model affect the landscape of the free-energy density functional, the phase field profiles at the grain boundaries, and the correspo...
